Thanks for the quick response! How did you confirm that the map thermostat was the problem? Did you experience engine overheating as well, and did you inspect the cooling system for any issues?

Yes, I had the same overheating issue. The slow warm-up and fluctuating temperature were the first signs, then the overheating started. A scan tool confirmed the thermostat fault. It’s best to get it checked at a workshop to be sure, but it does sound like the thermostat. The replacement cost me around 350€.

Thank you for your advice. I took the Citigo to a trusted mechanic, and you were spot on! The map thermostat was indeed defective. The temperature control is working perfectly again, and the engine no longer overheats. The cooling system seems fine now. The total cost was around 350€, as you predicted. I'm very grateful for your help!

I had a similar issue with my Citigo. The engine was taking ages to warm up, and the temperature gauge was all over the place. Have you checked the map thermostat? It's a common problem. Is the water pump working fine?
