Skoda Citigo radio reception problem

I'm officially stumped. My 2012 Skoda Citigo with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The car radio reception is terrible. I get an error message in the infotainment system about it, and the entire audio system sometimes just cuts out. Error memory also stores the issue. I'm thinking the antenna is defective. Anyone else experience something similar with their car radio static noise, or have any suggestions?

I encountered a similar problem with my Skoda Fabia. The error message and the audio system malfunction sound very familiar. Have you checked the signal strength indicator in the infotainment system's settings? Does it fluctuate wildly or remain consistently low?

Signal strength does fluctuate wildly. When the radio is not working, it remains consistently low, or doesn't show anything. Did replacing the antenna fix the issue for you?

Replacing the antenna resolved the poor signal and audio system issues entirely. Given the fluctuating signal strength and the error messages you're receiving, a defective antenna seems highly probable. I would recommend consulting with a qualified workshop to confirm the diagnosis and proceed with the replacement. Continuing to operate the vehicle with a faulty vehicle electronics system component may lead to further complications.

The workshop confirmed the antenna was defective. It cost 255€, but the radio is working perfectly now. Thanks for the help!
