Skoda Citigo smartphone connectivity issue

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2019 Skoda Citigo with a gasoline engine. It has about 202369 km on it. I can't connect my smartphone anymore and there's an error stored in the error memory. The workshop suspects it's just incorrect pairing with the end device. Has anyone had this before? Could a simple connectivity problem really cause such function restrictions?

I can relate to your predicament. While I do not own a 2019 Skoda Citigo, I experienced similar function restrictions with my Citigo's smartphone connection not too long ago. Did you observe any other unusual system malfunctions preceding this issue? Have you attempted a factory reset of the infotainment system before?

Thanks for the quick reply! A factory reset... hmm, hadn't thought of that. What exactly did you do to fix yours? Was it really just a pairing problem? I'm a bit worried it might be something more serious than just a simple connection issue since there was an error stored in the memory.

Indeed, the malfunction I encountered proved to be due to a flawed pairing process. Although a stored error might seem alarming, in my case, it was simply a consequence of the failed connection attempt. Considering the cost estimate provided by the workshop (45€), proceeding with their recommended solution seems judicious. A more severe underlying problem related to the fuel system, transmission, or suspension is unlikely, and resolving the pairing issue should alleviate the function restrictions you are experiencing.

Big thanks for your help. I took it to a workshop, they re-paired my phone, and it's working now. The error is gone, and the smartphone connection is back. Cost me 45€. Happy it wasn't something drivetrain, suspension, fuel system, or transmission related!
