Skoda Citigo smoking on acceleration
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Skoda Citigo with high mileage is experiencing power loss, a check engine light, and smoke during acceleration. The issue is suspected to be a malfunctioning crankcase ventilation valve, which can cause oil burning and lead to bluish smoke. Replacing the PCV valve resolved the problem, restoring the car's performance.

Interesting analogy. The smoke is definitely bluish. Did you end up replacing the PCV valve yourself, or did you take it to a shop? Any idea what it cost you?

Blueish smoke points to oil burning, which a faulty PCV valve could definitely cause. I wouldn't recommend tackling the PCV valve replacement yourself unless you're pretty confident. I took mine to a workshop as I didn't want to mess with the emissions system and risk making things worse. It's a fiddly job. I'd advise getting a quote from a trusted mechanic.

Yep, PCV valve was shot. 360€ later and it's running sweet. Thanks for the heads up, saved me a lot of guesswork.

Whoa, smoke when accelerating on a Citigo sounds rough! I had something similar with my Citigo. Check engine light was on, and it felt like I was towing a boat anchor. The PCV valve can cause all sorts of weirdness. Think of it like a clogged artery in your engine's breathing system. Is the smoke bluish or blackish?
