Yeah, the check engine light is on. Where exactly is the camshaft sensor located? And how difficult is it to check the connection myself? I'm not super mechanically inclined, but I can handle basic stuff.

It's usually on the cylinder head, near the camshaft. Honestly, if you're not comfortable with automotive sensors, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. A faulty camshaft sensor can cause serious engine misfire and potential damage if not addressed properly. Better safe than sorry.

You were spot on, it was the camshaft sensor cable. A local workshop fixed it for 95€. Runs like new now. Thanks for the help!

Sounds like a camshaft sensor issue. I had something similar with my Fabia. Check engine light came on, and the car was running really rough. Have you checked the sensor's connection? Could be a loose or corroded plug.
