Skoda Fabia Cold Start Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Skoda Fabia with a gasoline engine is experiencing cold start problems, running poorly and emitting a rich smell. The issue is suspected to be related to the injectors, possibly a defective injection valve. After conducting an injector test, it was confirmed that a faulty cold start injector was the cause. Cleaning the injector didn't resolve the issue, so replacement was necessary, which successfully fixed the problem.

An injector test, eh? What exactly does that involve? And did you have any luck with injector cleaning, or did you end up replacing yours?

The injector test checks if the injectors are spraying fuel correctly, quantity, spray pattern, all that. I tried injector cleaning first, but it didn't fix the problem. I replaced the injector. My advice? Get it to a workshop; it saves the headache.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a trusted workshop, and you nailed it, a faulty cold start injector. The injector test confirmed it right away. Injector cleaning didn't work, so I had to replace it. Cost me 515€, but at least she's purring like a kitten now, even on these cold mornings!

Rough idle on a Skoda Fabia rings a bell. I had similar cold start problems with my Fabia, also a gasoline engine. Sounds like a fuel delivery issue. Have you had an injector test done?
