Skoda Fabia cooling issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Skoda Fabia with a gasoline engine was experiencing issues with the temperature display, a check engine light, and slow engine warm-up. The problem was suspected to be related to the cooling grille, potentially causing a radiator blockage or a fuse issue affecting airflow. After checking for external obstructions and considering internal blockages, it was suggested to have the vehicle diagnosed professionally. The issue was confirmed to be a defective fuse for the cooling grille, which was replaced, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked for obstructions, but found nothing major. Could restricted airflow be caused by something inside the cooling system, not just the radiator grille?

Yes, definitely. Think of it like a pipe; even if the entrance is clear, a blockage further down restricts flow. However, since it started suddenly and you checked for external blockages, I'd guess a faulty sensor, control unit, or a fuse like you mentioned. Honestly, with those symptoms, get it checked by someone with diagnostic tools. They can pinpoint the cause, saving you guesswork.

Just letting you know, the workshop visit confirmed it A defective fuse for the cooling grille was the culprit. Cost 52€, and now the Skoda runs perfectly. Thanks for the assistance

That sounds similar to an issue I had with my Vauxhall Astra. The slow engine warm-up suggests restricted airflow to the radiator. Have you checked for radiator blockages? Leaves, plastic bags, anything in the cooling grille?
