Skoda Fabia Diesel Heating Issue

I'm having heating issues with my 2003 Skoda Fabia diesel. The heating output is too low, and there's an error stored. Could this be a defective water valve? The car has 119076 km. The error suggests the cable or plug connection is defective.

Sounds like a common issue. I had something similar on my old Seat. First, I'd check the water valve itself. Is it opening and closing properly? Sometimes they get stuck. Also, any coolant leaks? Could be a sign of a bigger problem affecting the heater core. Is the engine temperature normal?

Thanks for the quick response. How can I check the water valve without disassembling everything? Also, the engine isn't overheating.

Okay, since the engine isn't overheating, that's one less thing! Checking the water valve properly without taking things apart can be tricky. You might be able to feel it to see if it's vibrating when the heating is on, which could mean it's trying to open. But if you're not comfortable poking around, and there's an error code pointing to it, I'd say take it to a workshop. 95€ isn't too bad for that kind of repair, it's probably cheaper than replacing the heater core. I had to do that once on a similar car and it was much more expensive.

Thanks for the insights. Turns out the cable connection to the water valve was defective. The repair set me back 95€, just like you thought. The car's heating is working perfectly again.
