Skoda Fabia Diesel massage seat issue
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Skoda Fabia diesel owner experienced an issue with the massage seat switch not working, accompanied by a computer error. The problem was suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. After checking the fuses and ruling out weather-related patterns, it was suggested that the issue likely stemmed from a faulty seat switch or wiring. A visit to a qualified technician confirmed a faulty cable to the seat switch, which was repaired for 95€.

Thanks for the quick reply! I checked the fuses, and they seem fine. I haven't really noticed any pattern with the weather. Do you think it's definitely the switch itself, or could it be something else with the car upholstery?

Based on the information provided and my previous experience, the likelihood of a faulty seat switch or associated wiring is substantial. The error memory storing a fault code further supports this hypothesis. While other components could theoretically contribute to the problem, a defective cable or plug connection aligns with the symptoms you describe. I recommend a visit to a qualified automotive technician for a comprehensive diagnosis. The error memory should be read. Your expected repair cost should be around 95€.

Awesome, thanks a bunch for the help! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. They said the cable to the seat switch was faulty. Cost me 95€ to fix. Now my back will thank me on those long drives!

I may be able to offer some insight. I also drive a Skoda Fabia and encountered a similar predicament with the massage functionality of my automotive seats. To properly diagnose this issue, have you inspected the relevant fuses? Furthermore, is there any discernible pattern to when the error occurs, such as only during periods of elevated humidity or temperature? Any additional information would be beneficial in ascertaining the root cause.
