Skoda Fabia Diesel Stalling Rail Pressure Sensor Suspected

My 2008 Skoda Fabia diesel is throwing a check engine light and stalling at idle. VCDS scan points to a faulty rail pressure sensor signal. Reduced power too. I suspect the sensor itself, given the symptoms. Thoughts?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Fabia. Check engine light, rough idle, the whole shebang. It could very well be the fuel pressure sensor. It's like the heart of the fuel injection system, if it misreads the pressure, the whole engine suffers. Have you checked for any obvious wiring issues around the sensor?

Wiring looks okay on the surface. When you say 'similar', was it exactly the same symptoms? And did replacing the sensor fix it definitively?

Yep, pretty much identical. Reduced power, stalling, the whole nine yards. Replacing the sensor did the trick for me. Think of it like a bad thermometer giving the wrong temperature reading to your thermostat, which then messes everything up. Still, proceed with caution. It's always best to get it properly diagnosed by a workshop before throwing parts at it, but that sensor is the prime suspect.

The garage confirmed it was the rail pressure sensor. New sensor fitted, cost 240€. Runs perfectly now. Thanks for the insight.
