Skoda Fabia engine stalling at idle

My 2014 Skoda Fabia with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. The check engine light is on, and the engine keeps stalling at idle. I scanned the error memory, and it points to a bad engine idle air control valve. The car has 111503 km. Any ideas?

Sounds like a faulty IAC valve to me. I had a similar issue with my Fabia. The engine would randomly stall at idle, especially when the AC was on. Does the engine idle seem rough before it stalls? Also, have you checked for any vacuum leaks? They can cause similar symptoms.

Rough idle, yes, especially when cold. Where exactly is the IAC valve located? And how would I check for vacuum leaks?

The IAC valve is usually mounted on the throttle body. As for checking vacuum leaks, it's tricky. A mechanic usually uses a smoke machine to find them. Given the error code and the stalling, I'd strongly suggest taking it to a workshop. Could be just the IAC valve, but a dirty air intake can also cause this.

Took it to the workshop, and you were right. They said the air intake was heavily contaminated and the IAC valve was faulty. Repair cost me 425€. Runs like new now. Thanks for the help!
