Skoda Fabia Engine Trouble
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Skoda Fabia with 42,050 km was experiencing uneven engine performance, a check engine light, and jerking during acceleration. Initial suggestions included checking the air filter and fuel quality, but these were ruled out. Further discussion pointed to potential issues with fuel injectors, the crankshaft sensor, or exhaust leaks. Ultimately, the problem was identified as an exhaust system leak, which was repaired, resolving the engine trouble.

Interesting points. Regarding the fuel, always premium. As for the air filter, I've replaced it recently. Any ideas what else could cause the rough idle, check engine light, and jerking, especially if it's not the air filter? Could it be the fuel injectors or even the crankshaft sensor?

Okay, premium fuel and new air filter rules those out, I guess. Since the check engine light is on, and you're getting an error code, it's probably best to get it checked by a professional, right? It does sound like it could be something like a faulty fuel injector or a bad crankshaft sensor, but without proper diagnostics, it's just guesswork. Actually, now that you mention those symptoms alongside the stored error, have you checked for exhaust leaks? They can cause engine misfires and a rough idle.

You were right, it was a leak in the exhaust system. Got it fixed for 265€. Runs like new again. Thanks for your help.

Rough idle and jerking, huh? First thing that comes to mind is, have you checked your air filter lately? A clogged filter can sometimes cause those kinds of problems. When was the last time you replaced it? It could also be something fuel-related. Are you using good quality fuel, or have you been filling up at some dodgy gas stations?
