Skoda Fabia GPS Signal Loss

Anyone else experiencing GPS signal issues with their older Fabia? I have a 2015 Skoda Fabia diesel. The navigation system is not receiving any GPS signal, and there's an error stored in the error memory related to the GPS antenna. I suspect the antenna itself is the culprit. Any tips before I start tearing things apart?

A defective GPS antenna seems likely given the symptoms and the error code. Have you checked the connection of the antenna cable to the GPS module? It might be a loose connection or corrosion. The GPS module is often located behind the dashboard or in the roof area, depending on the car's configuration.

Thanks for the tip. Where exactly would I find the GPS module in a Fabia? Is it something I can easily access without dismantling half the car?

Based on the error code and lack of GPS reception, the antenna itself is the most probable cause. Locating the GPS module can be tricky and often requires some disassembly of interior trim. Given your experience and the potential for damaging car electronics, I would advise having a workshop diagnose and repair the issue. The 200€ estimate sounds reasonable for an antenna repair.

Took it to the workshop and the GPS antenna was faulty. A new antenna was fitted and it is working again. Cost 200€, as predicted. Cheers!
