I am experiencing an issue with the hands-free microphone in my 2007 Skoda Fabia, gasoline engine. Telephony is no longer possible. An error is stored in the error memory, suggesting a defective infotainment system. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? I suspect a microphone repair will not suffice.

Thank you for confirming my suspicion. I followed your advice and took the Fabia to a specialist. As suspected, the infotainment system was indeed faulty. Replacement and coding cost 815€. Telephony is now functioning correctly again.
