Thank you for the prompt response. I have not yet inspected the wiring harness myself, as I lack the necessary diagnostic tools and expertise. However, I was hoping to gain some insight before potentially incurring unnecessary expenses at a workshop. Could a simple cleaning of the contacts potentially resolve this sensor issue, or is replacement of the entire door handle mechanism more likely?

Given the age of the vehicle and the symptoms you describe, it's unlikely that simply cleaning the contacts will provide a lasting solution. Corrosion and wear often necessitate component replacement. The error stored in the error memory confirms a deeper sensor issue. I advise consulting a qualified technician to diagnose and rectify the door mechanism fault.

Excellent news! I appreciate the confirmation regarding the likely cause. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on: a defective plug connection on the car door mechanism. The locking system is now functioning correctly, and the keyless access is restored. The car door error memory is clear. Total cost: 95€. Thanks again for your assistance!

Regarding your Skoda Fabia with the gasoline engine, given the mileage and the symptoms you describe (keyless access failure, error memory), a defective cable or plug connection within the door handle is plausible. Have you inspected the wiring harness for any signs of damage or corrosion?
