Skoda Fabia Oil Pressure Issue

I'm quite concerned about my Skoda Fabia from 2019. It has a gasoline engine and about 147017 km on it. Recently, a warning light appeared on the speedometer and the oil pressure warning lamp keeps lighting up. Could this be related to the engine oil? I am not sure if I exceeded the maintenance interval or if I need to use oil additives. Is my engine at risk?

Contaminated oil can cause serious engine damage. I had a similar issue with my Renault Megane. The oil pressure warning lamp kept lighting up. Have you checked your oil level? Also, what does the oil color look like?

The oil level seems normal. I haven't checked the oil color yet, but I will. What did you do to fix the oil pressure problem in your Megane?

In my case, the issue was indeed the maintenance interval. The old oil had become sludgy, which reduced oil pressure. I'd recommend getting an oil change ASAP. It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to oil pressure. Low oil pressure can lead to catastrophic engine damage. A workshop should be able to quickly assess the situation.

Thank you for your help. I took the Fabia to a mechanic. As you suspected, the maintenance interval was exceeded. The oil change including filter and labor cost 165€. Everything seems fine now.
