Skoda Fabia Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Skoda Fabia with a gasoline engine is experiencing a radar sensor failure, leading to a speedometer error message, a stored error memory entry, and some affected vehicle systems, with the speedometer warning light on. The initial suspicion is that the sensor might be dirty. After cleaning the sensor externally, the system resumes normal function, suggesting that the issue was likely due to dirt or blockage rather than an electrical fault.

Regarding your Volvo V70, was the sensor problem definitely because of a blockage, or was it a bigger electrical issue?

In my case, with the Volvo, the first thought was it might be an electrical fault. But, after checking it closely, it was just road debris blocking the sensor. Because it can affect driving assistance and other safety features, you might want to get it checked by a professional.

Acknowledged. After cleaning the sensor externally, the system works. Total cost: 45€.

I remember a similar sensor failure with my old Volvo V70. The error messages were worrying. Have you done a diagnostic scan to find the specific fault code? It might give you a better idea of what's wrong with the sensor. Maybe the sensor is just blocked or if it's an electrical problem.
