Skoda Fabia sound system problem

I am experiencing a problem with the sound system in my 2017 Skoda Fabia with a diesel engine. The vehicle has 238185 km on the odometer. The audio system does not work at all; there is no audio output from any of the car speakers. Could a defective bass speaker cause a complete loss of sound?

I had a similar issue with the sound system in my Fabia, although my mileage was lower. Check the car speakers, particularly the bass speaker, for sound distortion or a complete lack of audio output. It sounds like your volume control isn't the problem, but rather something physically broken. It's like a lightbulb that's burned out – the switch still works, but there's no light.

That's interesting. Was the sound distortion constant, or did it come and go? I'm trying to determine if it might be a loose connection rather than a completely defective speaker.

In my case, the sound distortion worsened over time until there was no sound at all. A loose connection is possible, but based on your description of no audio output, a defective speaker is more likely. I would advise consulting a workshop for diagnosis. Replacing the speaker resolved the issue for me.

Thank you for your assistance. I took it to a local workshop, and you were correct. The bass speaker was indeed defective. The repair cost was 280€, including the replacement. The sound quality is now back to normal.
