Skoda Fabia sound system problem
Summary of the thread
The 2017 Skoda Fabia's sound system issue involved a complete lack of audio output from the speakers. A defective bass speaker was identified as the likely cause, as it can lead to a total loss of sound. The problem was resolved by replacing the faulty speaker, restoring the sound quality to normal.

That's interesting. Was the sound distortion constant, or did it come and go? I'm trying to determine if it might be a loose connection rather than a completely defective speaker.

In my case, the sound distortion worsened over time until there was no sound at all. A loose connection is possible, but based on your description of no audio output, a defective speaker is more likely. I would advise consulting a workshop for diagnosis. Replacing the speaker resolved the issue for me.

Thank you for your assistance. I took it to a local workshop, and you were correct. The bass speaker was indeed defective. The repair cost was 280€, including the replacement. The sound quality is now back to normal.

I had a similar issue with the sound system in my Fabia, although my mileage was lower. Check the car speakers, particularly the bass speaker, for sound distortion or a complete lack of audio output. It sounds like your volume control isn't the problem, but rather something physically broken. It's like a lightbulb that's burned out – the switch still works, but there's no light.
