Skoda Fabia tailgate hall sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Skoda Fabia owner experienced a fault with the tailgate hall sensor, causing the open tailgate function to not fully activate. The suspected cause was a defective cable or plug connection. Another individual suggested checking the wiring harness where it enters the tailgate, which was confirmed to be the issue. The problem was resolved by a workshop for the estimated cost.

Interesting. When you say wiring harness, do you mean the plug connection near the vehicle sensor, or somewhere else along the tailgate?

Yes, I meant the plug connection. I tried to fix it myself, but ended up making it worse. If you're not confident with electrical work, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for diagnosis. They should be able to pinpoint the exact location of the sensor fault. Maybe it is something simple, but it could also be a faulty vehicle sensor that needs sensor calibration.

Thank you for the helpful information. It was indeed a defective cable. The workshop fixed it for 95€, as expected.

I had something similar with my Fabia, though I can't remember the exact error code. It was also related to the power tailgate not opening fully. Have you checked the wiring harness where it enters the tailgate? That's where my issue was.
