Skoda Fabia Undervoltage Electrical Problem

I've got an electrical problem with my 2005 Skoda Fabia diesel. It's throwing an undervoltage error, starting poorly, systems are failing, lights are flickering, and the battery seems weak. I suspect the battery, but what do you think?

Undervoltage in a Fabia? Sounds like a power supply issue. Is the alternator charging? Check the battery terminals for corrosion or looseness. A bad connection restricts flow.

Good call on the alternator; I'll check that. Is there an easy way to test it myself? And if the battery terminal looks fine, could it still be bad? The car has a lot of kilometers on it, so I was expecting electrical issues eventually.

Even if a terminal looks okay, internal corrosion can cause resistance. To test the alternator, measure the voltage at the battery with the engine running. It should be above 13.5V. But given the symptoms and the car's age, a discharged or bad battery is most likely. Get the battery tested.

Just closing the loop on the Fabia undervoltage. The battery was indeed the problem. A replacement and terminal cleaning resolved everything. The workshop charged 290€. Thanks for the quick help!
