Skoda Kamiq Brake Light Error

I'm having trouble with my 2020 Skoda Kamiq diesel, it has 164163 km. I'm getting a brake light error message, and the brake lights aren't working. There's an error stored. Could a bad brake light switch be the reason? I think I might have triggered it by accidentally pressing the brake pedal when starting the engine.

I had something similar happen with my Kamiq. See if the brake lights are really out or if it's just a sensor acting up. Have you had any brake work done recently?

Thanks for the quick reply. No recent brake work. Is there a specific sensor I should be checking, or is the brake light switch the more likely culprit?

I had the same error from accidentally pressing the brake when starting. The shop cleared the code, and it hasn't come back. If you're not sure, a shop visit is a good idea. But yeah, could be a bad switch.

Turns out, it was from accidentally hitting the brake pedal while starting. I cleared the error, and it hasn't come back. Thanks for suggesting a workshop, but I didn't need it. Repair cost was 0€.
