Skoda Kamiq Diesel Engine Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Skoda Kamiq diesel with 169,177 km is experiencing a 'mixture preparation error' code, leading to power loss, rough engine performance, jerking during acceleration, and stalling at idle. The issue is suspected to be caused by a defective injector or injection valve. After consulting with others and visiting a garage, the problem was confirmed to be a faulty injector, which was replaced, resolving the engine issues.

When you say 'similar symptoms', was it the stalling at idle too? And did it end up being something major, or just a sensor thing? Seriously hoping it's not going to cost me a fortune

Yes, the stalling at idle was definitely part of the problem. Given the symptoms, especially the stalling and rough running, combined with the error code, a defective injector is quite likely. If you are not particularly technical, I suggest taking it to a workshop for proper diagnosis. They can perform tests to confirm the issue and replace the faulty injector. It might be best to leave this to the professionals.

Took her to the garage and they confirmed a faulty injector. All sorted now, cost me 515€ but she's running great again. Thanks for the advice; it really helped knowing what to expect.

That sounds awfully familiar. I've got a Skoda Kamiq as well, though with a petrol engine, and had similar symptoms last year: reduced power, engine light, the whole shebang. Did you check the air-fuel ratio? A faulty oxygen sensor or even a dirty mass airflow sensor can throw things off. Have you considered checking the throttle body or even the spark plugs? Are they relatively new?
