Skoda Kamiq Diesel Oil Level Warning

Hi, I've got a problem with my 2020 Skoda Kamiq diesel. The oil level warning light keeps coming on, and I'm getting an error message in the speedometer about a faulty oil level sensor signal. The oil pressure warning lamp lights up too! Could this be related to the oil gauge, perhaps a faulty sensor messing with the oil monitoring system? I saw something about a defective cable or plug connection being a possible cause. Any ideas?

Sounds like the oil level sensor is acting up. Is the oil level actually okay when you check it manually with the dipstick? Sometimes those sensors get a bit wonky, especially the plug connections. Worth a look!

Good point about the dipstick, I'll check that first thing. But if the oil level is fine, and it's likely just the sensor or its wiring, is it safe to drive short distances, or am I risking damage without proper oil detection?

Yep, if the dipstick shows the oil level is good, the engine should be safe for short trips, but honestly, that flashing light would stress me out. If it's just a dodgy connection as you suspect, better to get it checked soon. These things never get better on their own. You're right about the wiring, that's often the culprit and an easy fix. A garage should be able to sort it. Definitely take it in - peace of mind is worth something!

Just wanted to say thanks for the info. It was indeed a faulty sensor connection. The garage sorted it out, new connector fitted, and the error is gone. Cost me 95€, so not too bad. Appreciate the help!
