Where exactly should I be looking for these cable connections? Any specific area prone to failure? I'm not a complete novice, but I wouldn't call myself an expert either.

Mine was the same. Error message and the SOS signal light constantly on. The mechanic mentioned it's a common issue with the Kamiq related to the telematics unit connection. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop; they should be able to diagnose and fix it quickly. Will save you hours of frustration.

Took the Kamiq to the workshop. It was a faulty connection. They re-seated the connector and cleared the codes. 95€ all in. Thanks for the tip, saved me a lot of worry!

Yes, it's possible that the SOS emergency call malfunction could be related to a windshield replacement. The telematics unit or its connections might have been disturbed during the replacement process. I recommend checking if any cables or connectors near the windshield area are loose or improperly connected. If you're unsure, it might be best to have a professional inspect it to ensure everything is properly connected and functioning. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

I had a similar issue with my Kamiq. The emergency call system malfunctioned, and that awful SOS signal error kept popping up. Did you check the cable connections? That's what caused my problems.
