Skoda Kamiq Engine Control Malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Skoda Kamiq with a gasoline engine displayed an engine control malfunction and wouldn't start. Initial diagnostics pointed to bad cable connections on the battery, but there was also concern about a potential ECU issue. After confirming and addressing the loose battery cable connections by cleaning and tightening them, the problem was resolved, and the check engine light turned off.

The check engine light is on. The fuel injection appears fine initially. What was the specific issue with your Kamiq? Were there any engine stalling symptoms?

Yes, the check engine light was on. In my case, it was a loose battery cable connection. The engine diagnostics displayed several errors related to fuel injection and the ECU, but the shop indicated it was due to the voltage dropping too low during startup because of the poor connection. I suggest having it inspected.

Confirmed the battery cable connections were the problem. After cleaning and tightening, everything is working. The check engine light is off. The total cost was 155€. Thanks for the advice!

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my Kamiq where the engine wouldn't start. Did the check engine light illuminate? Have you inspected the fuel injection system?
