Skoda Kamiq Engine Error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Skoda Kamiq owner reported an engine error with warning lights on the infotainment system and speedometer, suspecting incorrect vehicle coding as the cause. A similar experience with another vehicle suggested using a diagnostic scanner to identify the issue, which confirmed a coding error. The recommended solution was to have a workshop recode the affected module, which successfully resolved the problem.

So, the diagnostic scanner confirmed a coding error? Did you attempt to reset codes or try any other troubleshooting steps before taking it in?

Yes, the diagnostic scanner specifically indicated a coding issue with one of the modules. I tried to reset codes, but the error reappeared immediately. Given that, and the symptoms you describe, it's probably best to have a workshop recode the affected module. They'll have the right tools and software to ensure it's done correctly.

Thanks for the help. Took it to the shop and you were spot on. Incorrect coding was the issue. Cost 360€ to resolve.

I had a similar issue with my BMW 3 Series. Kept getting an engine light and error messages. Have you tried using a diagnostic scanner to read the OBD-II codes? It might give you a better idea of which control module is throwing the error. In my case, it pointed to a coding error after a software installation.
