Interesting analogy. Where exactly should I be looking for this wiring fault? Is it something easily accessible, or will I need to remove the door panel to inspect the car door locking system?

Yes, it's likely the same issue. My symptoms matched yours exactly. While you could try to check yourself, accessing the wiring properly might require special tools. I'd advise getting it checked professionally to avoid making the wiring fault worse and causing additional electric door problems.

It was indeed a defective cable to the door handle electronics, just like you suspected. The car door locking system is now fully functional again. The invoice came out to 95€, exactly as predicted. Thanks for the help!

I had a similar issue with my Kamiq, although I can't remember the exact error code. The keyless entry stopped working intermittently, then completely failed. Have you checked the wiring harness where it enters the car door? Those can sometimes get damaged, like a kink in a garden hose that stops the water flow.
