Was your issue also related to the exhaust system or catalytic converter? Did you see any exhaust leaking?

Yes, the exhaust system was affected, and the check engine light was on. I suggest visiting a workshop.

Turns out it was indeed a faulty connection to the NOx sensor. 95€ later, all sorted.

I also drive a Skoda Kamiq, but I have a diesel engine. Could it be the emission sensor? I had a similar issue a while ago.
