Skoda Kamiq Overheating and Coolant Loss

My 2021 Skoda Kamiq with a diesel engine is giving me trouble. It's got 39012 km on it, and it's overheating. The check engine light is on, and I'm finding coolant spills under the car. There seems to be excessive pressure in the cooling system. Could this be a software glitch? A mechanic mentioned a possible control module issue with a communication fault, maybe a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this?

Overheating, check engine light, and coolant loss sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Kamiq. Is the CAN bus system throwing any error codes? A communication fault can cause weirdness. Have you checked the data link connectors for corrosion or loose connections? It could be a simple fix.

CAN bus system? Data link connectors? I'm not sure what you mean. Where should I be looking, and what am I looking for? Can I fix this myself, or should I take it to a mechanic?

That sounds like the same problem. The CAN bus is the car's nervous system; it lets the control modules talk to each other. A communication fault makes things go haywire. The data link connector is where the mechanic plugs in their diagnostic tool. Look around the engine compartment for damaged wiring or loose plugs, but if you're not comfortable, take it to a workshop. Better safe than sorry.

Took the Kamiq to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was a faulty connection in the CAN bus system. They replaced a plug and cleared the error codes. Cost me 95€ in total. Thanks for your help.
