Skoda Kamiq Passenger Seat Issue

I'm officially stumped. I've got a Skoda Kamiq built in 2019 with a Gasoline engine, and it's got around 35664 km on the clock. The passenger seat electric seat has suddenly stopped working. I scanned for errors and it's throwing up a fault in the error memory related to the seat adjustment. The seat adjustment isn't possible at all. I read online that a heavily discharged or defective battery could cause this. Could that really be it Anyone else had similar issues with their car seats or power seats

Summary of the thread

A Skoda Kamiq owner experienced an issue with the passenger electric seat not working, with an error related to seat adjustment. It was suggested that a heavily discharged or defective battery could be the cause, as power seats are sensitive to voltage drops. After consulting a workshop, it was confirmed that the battery was indeed the problem. Replacing the battery resolved the issue, and the seat function was restored.

Electric seat issues on a Kamiq That's a bummer. First thought is definitely battery. Have you checked the voltage A heavily discharged or defective battery can cause all sorts of weird electrical gremlins, especially with power seats. They need a good amount of juice to move those automotive seats around. Is it the original battery If so, it might be nearing the end of its life, especially if you do a lot of short trips.

Yeah, it's the original battery. I haven't actually checked the voltage myself though. But if the battery is low, wouldn't I be having other issues too Like problems starting the car, or other electrical stuff acting up It's just the passenger electric seat that's playing up, hence the confusion

Understood. You'd expect other symptoms with a truly bad battery. Thing is, the power seats can be quite sensitive to voltage drops. If the battery is borderline, it might affect them first. However, it could also be a faulty seat motor, wiring issue, or even the seat control module itself. Given that you've got an error code, and you're not comfortable doing electrical testing, honestly, I'd advise taking it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose the problem and pinpoint the exact cause. Could save you a lot of time and frustration.

Just wanted to share the resolution. The workshop confirmed it was the battery. They replaced it, cleared the error, and now the passenger power seats are working perfectly again. Cost me 290€ all in. Thanks for the help.
