Skoda Kamiq rear window heating problem

My 2019 Skoda Kamiq diesel's rear window heating has stopped working. VCDS shows an error code, and the windshield heating is also not performing optimally. Given the symptoms, I suspect a heavily discharged or defective battery. Any insights before I start tearing things apart?

I had a similar issue with my Skoda Octavia. Have you checked the battery's voltage? A low battery can cause all sorts of electrical problems.

Interesting. How did you determine it was the battery? Did the rear defroster work intermittently, or not at all?

In my case, the rear window car defrost stopped working completely. The auto defrost was also affected. After some diagnostics, I opted to take it to a workshop. They confirmed the battery was the issue.

The garage confirmed the battery was heavily discharged. Replacing it resolved the rear window heating and auto defrost issues. Total cost was 290€.
