Skoda Kamiq transmission issue
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Skoda Kamiq with nearly 100,000 km experienced transmission issues, including the engine light being on, rough shifting, and grinding noises. The problem was suspected to be related to the transmission oil temperature sensor. After checking the transmission oil level and finding it insufficient, the issue persisted. Ultimately, replacing the faulty transmission oil temperature sensor resolved the problem, restoring smooth shifting.

Did you also get grinding noises, and have the gearbox go into emergency mode? Where was your error stored? And when you say similar, was it the temperature sensor?

Yeah, the grinding noise was intermittent, but definitely there, and the emergency mode kicked in a couple of times. The error was definitely related to the transmission sensor. In my case, low transmission oil caused the temperature sensor to go haywire. I'd advise to get it checked at a workshop.

Appreciate the insight. You were right about the transmission oil level. Topped it off and that didn't solve it. Took it to a workshop; faulty transmission oil temperature sensor. Replaced it, total cost 365€. Shifting smooth again.

Sounds familiar. I drive a Kamiq as well, and I had similar symptoms last year: engine light, rough shifting, and the transmission felt like it was slipping. I was worried about overheating problems too. Have you checked your transmission oil level? It might be worth a look before you panic.
