Skoda Karoq audio system failure

Hoping someone can help. My 2021 Skoda Karoq with a diesel engine is giving me grief. The audio system's packed it in completely. No sound whatsoever. The garage plugged it in and said there's an error stored in the memory, and they reckon the display is defective. Anyone else had this? Before I shell out 725€, I'd like a second opinion. I have checked the sound system, and it doesn't work. I am not sure if it is caused by faulty wiring or not. Any ideas?

Sounds like a faulty display to me. I had a similar issue with my Karoq's sound system. First, check the dashboard controls to see if they respond. Does the system power on at all? Sometimes a fuse blows, so check the fuse box first. Have you noticed any speaker crackle or static noise before it went completely silent?

Yeah, the dashboard controls light up, but nothing happens when I press them. I didn't notice any speaker crackle or static noise beforehand, it just cut out suddenly. Where exactly is the fuse box, and what fuse should I be looking for? What do you mean by 'faulty display'?

By "faulty display" I mean the whole unit that controls the sound system has gone bad. The fuse box location should be in your owner's manual – typically, there are diagrams there. But honestly, if the dashboard controls light up, it's probably not the fuse. Given the garage already pulled an error code and suspects the display, it's likely a hardware issue. You could try checking for any obvious faulty wiring behind the unit if you're feeling brave, but I'd probably just take it to a workshop.

Cheers for the help. Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – the display was buggered. Cost me 725€ to get it sorted, ouch! At least I've got my tunes back now.
