Skoda Karoq Brake Fluid Warning and Spongy Pedal
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Skoda Karoq owner reported a brake fluid warning light and a spongy brake pedal, suspecting worn brakes as the cause of low brake fluid. Another individual with a similar experience suggested checking the brake pads, as worn pads can lead to a drop in fluid levels. The solution involved replacing the worn brake pads and topping up the brake fluid, which resolved the issue and restored normal pedal feel.

Interesting. How worn were your brake pads when you had the problem? And did you just top up the brake fluid or do a complete fluid replacement?

Mine were pretty thin. I'd suggest getting them checked soon. Topped off the fluid initially, but the mechanic recommended a full fluid replacement when the pads were done. Honestly, I think you should get it to a workshop.

Thanks for the insight. Turns out the low brake fluid was indeed due to worn pads. Got them replaced, fluid topped up, and it cost 480€. Pedal feels normal again.

I had a similar issue with my Karoq. The brake pedal felt weird and the warning light came on. Have you checked your brake pads? Could be they're worn and causing the fluid level to drop.
