Skoda Karoq Central Locking Problem

I am seeking insights regarding a central locking malfunction in my 2022 Skoda Karoq with a gasoline engine and approximately 177704 km. The doors can no longer be locked or unlocked via the central locking system. An error is stored in the error memory. Based on preliminary diagnostics, a defective cable or plug connection is suspected. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? The estimated repair cost is 95€.

Central locking issues can be a real headache. I had a similar problem with my Karoq, though I can't recall the exact mileage. Have you checked the fuse box? Sometimes it's just a blown fuse related to the security system. Also, have you tried the spare key fob to rule out a problem with the primary one?

Thank you for the swift response. Regarding your experience, was your issue intermittent, or did the central locking fail entirely? Also, which fuse specifically did you check? The manual diagrams are somewhat vague. Did you also encounter any error messages or was it a silent failure?

In my case, the failure was total, no response from the central locking whatsoever. I can't recall the exact fuse number offhand. Honestly, after checking the obvious and trying the spare key, I just took it to the workshop. Considering the error memory indication and the cost you mentioned, it sounds like you are on the right track with the cable diagnosis. Probably best to get it professionally checked to pinpoint the exact location of the defect.

As suspected, a defective cable within the door was the culprit. The workshop identified and replaced it for the anticipated 95€. Everything is functioning correctly again. Thanks for sharing your experience; it proved invaluable in directing my troubleshooting efforts.
