Skoda Karoq Diesel Cold Start Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Skoda Karoq diesel is experiencing issues with poor engine performance during cold starts, an error in the memory, and increased fuel consumption at 43,753 km. The suspected cause is a defective electric auxiliary heater. After consulting with others who had similar issues, it was confirmed that the problem was indeed the PTC heating element, which was resolved at a workshop.

Interesting. Was your fuel consumption also higher than usual? I'm trying to figure out if it's definitely the auxiliary heater before I take it in. The error code does point to it though...

Yeah, my consumption was also up a bit, now that you mention it. I didn't connect the two at first. If you're getting an error code pointing to the heating element, I'd say it's pretty likely that's the culprit. Probably best to get it checked out at a workshop.

Just wanted to close the loop. You were spot on! Took it to the workshop, and it was indeed the PTC heating element. The total repair cost was around 350€. Thanks for the help!

I had a similar issue with my Karoq. I remember getting cold air during the first few minutes, even with the HVAC system cranked up. Does it feel like your temperature control is off? Could be an electrical fault messing with the heating element.
