Skoda Karoq Diesel Cylinder Pressure Issue

I'm officially losing my mind. My 2018 Skoda Karoq diesel is throwing a cylinder pressure fluctuation error. Check engine light is on, fuel consumption is up, and I'm feeling a definite power loss. I'm thinking head gasket or maybe even a fuel injector issue, but I'm hoping it's not the timing belt. Anyone seen anything like this before? Spark plug are relatively new...

Fluctuating cylinder pressure on a diesel Karoq can be tricky. I had a similar issue on mine, though I can't remember the exact mileage. Before you start tearing things apart, have you checked for any other error codes? Sometimes a faulty sensor can cause a chain reaction and throw off the cylinder pressure readings. Could be something simple before you start worrying about the timing belt or crankshaft.

Interesting, what kind of sensor issue did you have? Was it also showing the check engine light and impacting fuel consumption? Because I'm seeing both, along with a noticeable power loss. I was already pricing out head gasket replacement, so any insights would be super helpful!

Yep, check engine light was on and the fuel consumption went up noticeably. Power was down too. In my case, it was a sensor giving false readings. A diagnostic scan at a workshop should pinpoint it. Don't go replacing the head gasket just yet!

Wow, you were spot on! Took it to the workshop, turns out the cylinder pressure fluctuation was a ghost signal. No actual problem with the head gasket or fuel injector, it was a dodgy sensor throwing everything off. They cleared the code, ran some tests, and it's running smooth as butter. Zero cost! Thanks a bunch for the heads up, I was starting to sweat about a major repair.
