Skoda Karoq Diesel Engine Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Skoda Karoq with a diesel engine is experiencing reduced engine power, a persistent warning light, poor starting, and flickering lights. The error memory indicates a potential issue with the generator. The problem is likely due to a defective alternator, which can affect the charging system and potentially cause issues with the starter motor or serpentine belt. The suggested solution is to have the alternator checked and possibly replaced, as confirmed by another owner with similar issues.

You had the same symptoms? Charging system... what exactly did you check? Was it a simple fix, or did you need a full alternator replacement?

Yes, those were the exact symptoms. I'm no expert, but the workshop confirmed it was the alternator. They mentioned something about the charging system not working correctly. In the end, I needed an alternator replacement. I suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked properly.

Big thanks for sharing your experience! Turns out it was exactly the generator. Had to get the alternator replaced, which set me back 960€. Ouch! But at least the Karoq is running smoothly again.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Skoda Karoq. Reduced power and all those warning lights. Have you checked the charging system?
