Skoda Karoq Engine Stalling At Idle
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Skoda Karoq with a gasoline engine is experiencing stalling at idle, accompanied by an illuminated check engine light. The error memory points to an issue with the idle air control valve, suspected to be caused by a contaminated air intake. Cleaning the air intake may provide temporary relief, but replacing the faulty air valve is likely necessary for a permanent solution. A professional diagnosis confirmed the air valve issue, and replacing it resolved the stalling problem.

Thanks for the suggestion. You also had error codes stored in the memory? Did cleaning the air intake resolve the issue completely, or did you have to replace the air valve itself?

Yes, the error codes were also present. Cleaning the air intake helped temporarily, but ultimately, I had to replace the air valve to completely resolve the engine stalling issue. I would advise having a professional take a look to properly diagnose the problem.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It seems I was indeed facing a similar issue. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the air valve was faulty due to a heavily contaminated air intake. The repair, including parts and labor, came to 425€. The engine stalling issue is now resolved.

I had a similar problem with my Skoda Karoq. The engine stalling at idle and the check engine light were quite annoying. Have you checked the air intake for any obstructions or excessive dirt? That could be related to your idle air control valve issue.
