Skoda Karoq Engine Stalling at Idle

My 2020 Skoda Karoq, diesel engine, is showing a check engine light and stalls at idle. I suspect it's the tank ventilation valve malfunctioning due to clogged hoses in the EVAP system. Any thoughts before I delve deeper?

I had a similar issue with my Karoq. The check engine light illuminated, and the engine would stall occasionally, especially when idle. Have you checked the gas cap? A loose gas cap can sometimes trigger the EVAP system and cause the engine light to appear. Also, have you noticed any hissing sounds when opening the fuel tank?

The gas cap seems fine, and I haven't noticed any hissing. When your Karoq had this issue, was it consistently stalling, or was it intermittent? And did you address the problem yourself, or did you take it to a mechanic?

In my case, the stalling was intermittent, but became more frequent. Given the EVAP system involvement, and your suspicion of clogged hoses, it's probably best to have a workshop take a look. They can properly diagnose and clean or replace the valve and hoses as needed.

The tank ventilation valve was indeed the culprit. Hoses were clogged as suspected. Replaced the valve, and the engine light is gone, stalling issue resolved. Cost me 175€ at the workshop. Thanks for the insights.
