Skoda Karoq Gasoline Engine Power Loss

Okay, so I'm officially pulling my hair out. My 2019 Skoda Karoq with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. It's got about 194037 km on it. The check engine light is on, and it feels like I'm driving a tractor – seriously reduced engine power. The engine response is terrible, and sometimes it even stalls at idle. I've also noticed my fuel consumption has gone up. I can also hear a whistling noise. I'm thinking it might be something with the boost pressure system. I've cleaned the throttle body and checked the MAP sensor, but no luck. Could it be the intercooler? Or maybe a pressure sensor? Any ideas?

Sounds suspiciously like a wastegate issue. I had something similar with my Skoda Octavia. Check engine light, limp mode, the whole shebang. Does it also make a weird whistling or hissing sound under acceleration?

Hissing! Yes! A loud hissing when accelerating! So, if it was the wastegate in your Octavia, what exactly did you do? New turbo? Or is the wastegate a separate part?

The wastegate is usually a separate part, thankfully! You don't need a whole new turbo (phew!). In my case, it was a defect in the wastegate valve itself. It wasn't sealing properly, causing the boost to leak. Get it checked at a workshop; they will be able to confirm if the wastegate is faulty. Good luck!

Wow, thanks a million for the info! I took it to a trusted mechanic, and you called it! Wastegate was indeed the culprit. New valve installed, and the car's running like new. Total cost 860€. Appreciate the help!
