Skoda Karoq Injection System Fault

I'm officially stumped. My 2019 Skoda Karoq with a gasoline engine is throwing a fit. We're talking seriously increased fuel consumption, a noticeable drop in engine power, like, overtaking a tractor is now a challenge, and it keeps stalling at idle. Plus, there's this nasty smoke cloud when I accelerate hard. I've scanned the OBD, and it points to an injection system fault. I'm suspecting a defective cable or plug connection of the component. Anyone else experienced this nightmare? Any ideas where to start poking around before I cave and take it to a shop? I mean, the loss in performance is just killing me, not to mention the worry about the engine!

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Skoda Karoq with a gasoline engine is experiencing increased fuel consumption, reduced engine power, stalling at idle, and excessive smoke during acceleration, with an OBD scan indicating an injection system fault. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection to the fuel injectors. The suggested solution is to check the electrical connections to the injectors for loose plugs or corrosion, which ultimately resolved the issue when a faulty connector was identified and repaired at a workshop.

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my Karoq. Check the electrical connections to the fuel injectors. Could be a loose plug or corroded connector.

Interesting! When you say 'electrical connections', do you mean the actual wires going into the injectors, or is there a specific plug I should be looking at? And was it obvious when you found the issue, or did you need special tools to diagnose it?

Yeah, the plugs that connect directly to each injector. Give them a wiggle, check for corrosion. If that doesn't fix it just go to the workshop.

Thanks so much for the heads up. You were spot on! Took it to the workshop, and it turned out to be a dodgy connector on one of the injectors, just like you suggested. 95€ later and she's purring like a kitten again. Fuel consumption is back to normal, power's restored, and no more embarrassing smoke clouds. Seriously appreciate the help!
