Skoda Karoq Loud Exhaust Noise
Summary of the thread
The conversation centers around a 2019 Skoda Karoq experiencing unusually loud exhaust noise, particularly after a cold start, with an error stored in the error memory. The initial suspicion is defective exhaust flaps, which could be causing the noise and potentially affecting engine performance. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the exhaust flaps, which successfully normalized the exhaust noise. The problem was confirmed and fixed by a workshop, validating the initial suspicion of defective exhaust flaps.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't specifically checked for exhaust blockage. How would I go about checking that? And did replacing the flaps solve the loud exhaust noise permanently?

Yes replacing the flaps fixed the noise issue completely. Regarding the blockage, I'm not an expert, but if the flaps are gone, the exhaust is probably not working properly. Best bet is to get it checked at a workshop. Could save you some trouble down the road.

Just wanted to let you know, you were right. Workshop confirmed defective exhaust flaps. Replaced them for 190€. Exhaust noise is normal now. Thanks for the help.

Sounds familiar. I had similar exhaust noise issues with my Karoq. Error memory also had something about exhaust flaps. Have you checked for exhaust blockage too? That can cause similar symptoms.
