Skoda Karoq Oil Pressure Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Skoda Karoq owner experienced an oil pressure warning light, suspecting oil contamination due to exceeding the maintenance interval. The oil appeared darker than usual, raising concerns about contamination rather than a faulty sensor. The suggested solution was to confirm the issue at a shop and perform an oil change. After changing the oil and filter, the warning light issue was resolved.

The oil color appears darker than usual, but not milky. I haven't had the oil pressure measured directly; I'm relying on the warning light. Could the oil pressure sensor itself be faulty, or is that unlikely?

Darker oil and the warning light makes oil contamination more likely than a bad sensor, but I can't rule it out. Skipping the maintenance interval could cause this. I'd get it to a shop to confirm and change the oil.

The extended maintenance interval was indeed the problem, like I thought. An oil change and new filter, costing 165€, fixed the oil pressure light. Thanks for the help.

Oil contamination in a Karoq is concerning. What does the oil look like? Is it milky or sludgy? Also, has the oil pressure been measured, or are you just going by the warning light?
