Thanks for the quick reply! Which brake sensor are you referring to specifically? And when you say 'system glitch', do you mean a software issue, or something else? I ran a basic error scan, and it pointed to the parking brake, but nothing more specific than that.

Yeah, it was the same for me. The error code pointed to the parking brake, but the root cause was a faulty brake sensor. The garage guys said it's a common problem. By 'system glitch', I meant a software/electrical fault causing the parking brake module to misread the brake sensor data. If the basic scan didn't pinpoint it, a proper brake diagnostics check at a workshop is probably your best bet.

Took the Karoq to the shop, and you were spot on. The electric motor in the brake caliper was indeed defective. They replaced it, and the parking brake is working perfectly again. The brake diagnostics confirmed the issue. Cost me around 505€, but at least it's sorted. Thanks again for your help!

Sounds like a familiar story. I had a similar parking brake issue on my Karoq. I'd check the brake sensor first. Could be a system glitch triggering the warning light. Have you run any brake diagnostics?
