Skoda Karoq problems (2019) with the navigation system screen

Hi everyone, I have a problem with my 2019 Skoda Karoq (diesel, 218765 km). My navigation system has stopped working and I suspect that the navigation system screen has failed. Have any of you ever had a similar problem? And what was your experience with the mechanic? Thank you!

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Skoda Karoq owner experienced issues with their navigation system screen, suspecting a failure. A similar case with a 2016 Skoda Octavia revealed that a faulty cable connection between the control unit and the display was the cause. The solution involved checking and replacing defective cables, which resolved the issue completely. Following this advice, the Karoq owner had their vehicle inspected, found a loose cable, and had it repaired, restoring the navigation system's functionality.

Hello, I had a similar problem with my 2016 Skoda Octavia. In my case, it was due to a faulty cable connection between the control unit and the display. The connection was shaky and often caused interruptions, which resulted in the display failing completely. At the workshop, they checked the control unit and the affected cable connections and then replaced the defective cables. The whole process is a little more complicated because parts of the dashboard often have to be removed to access the cables. In the end, however, it solved the problem completely. Hope this helps you! Regards,

Hi, thanks for your reply! Do you remember how much the whole thing cost? And did anything else come up afterwards or did it solve the problem completely? Best regards,

Hello, yes, I remember it well. In my case, the repair cost a total of €165. The mechanics checked the cable connection between the control unit and the display and found that a bad connection was the problem. After they repaired this faulty cable connection, the problem with the navigation system screen being out of order was completely solved. I haven't had any further problems with it since. I hope this helps you! Best regards,

Hello, thanks for the information! That gives me a good starting point. Yesterday I went straight to the garage. The mechanic was very friendly and looked at the problem straight away. As you described, he first checked the cable connections. In fact, one of my cables was also loose. Fortunately, nothing major had to be replaced. The repair cost me just under €150 and took about two hours in total. Since then, the sat nav has been working perfectly again. So, thanks again for the tip! Best regards,
