Skoda Karoq rear window heating issue
Summary of the thread
The rear window heating issue in a 2021 Skoda Karoq was likely caused by a heavily discharged and defective battery. This problem can affect the window heater's efficiency due to insufficient power supply. The suggested solution was to have the battery checked and replaced if necessary, which resolved the issue.

Interesting. I did get an error stored in the error memory, and the windshield heating isn't working as usual either. I haven't noticed any starting issues, but I'll pay closer attention. What exactly was the problem with your battery, and how did you figure it out?

Okay, so an error code plus the windshield heating issue points even more towards a power problem. In my case, the battery was heavily discharged and wasn't holding charge properly anymore. It was enough to start the car most of the time, but apparently not enough to run the window heater efficiently. Honestly, I'd get the battery checked professionally. It's possible it's something else, but a weak battery can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins in these cars. Best to rule it out. If you're under warranty, definitely get it checked at the workshop.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. The battery was heavily discharged and defective. They replaced it, and the window heater is working again. Cost me 290€, but at least it's sorted.

That's a weird one. I had a similar issue with my Karoq – the window heater was acting up, and the auto defrost wasn't kicking in like it should. Did you check for any error codes? It might be a long shot, but have you noticed if the car is struggling to start, especially in cold weather? Just wondering if it could be a battery issue like mine was. These modern cars throw all sorts of errors when the battery is on its way out. The thermal window needs a lot of power.
