Skoda Karoq Sun Blind Problem

My 2017 Skoda Karoq with a gasoline engine has a problem with the sun blind. It's completely stuck and won't retract or extend. There's also an error stored. I'm guessing the motor is done for? Such a pain when you're trying to get some UV protection in the car interior from that pesky sun visor. Any thoughts?

Summary of the thread

A 2017 Skoda Karoq owner reported a problem with the sun blind being stuck and not retracting or extending, accompanied by an error code. The issue was suspected to be a faulty motor. It was advised to have the motor checked and replaced at a workshop due to the complexity and potential risks of DIY repair. The motor was eventually replaced, resolving the issue.

I had a similar issue with my Octavia's sun visor. Sounds like a dead motor to me. Have you checked the error codes?

Error codes are showing a sunblind fault, yeah. Was it a big job to fix on your Octavia?

Yup, pretty much confirms the motor. I wouldn't attempt a DIY repair, honestly. Best to get it sorted at a workshop. The interior accessory needs some dismantling and you don't want to mess with the airbag system when fiddling with car interior parts.

Thanks for the info! I took it to the shop and you were spot on – motor was shot. Got it replaced for 330€, so all good now.
