Skoda Karoq Transmission Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Skoda Karoq diesel was experiencing transmission fault warnings, an engine light, jerky shifting, and grinding noises, suspected to be due to a transmission oil pressure sensor issue. A similar issue in another Skoda model was linked to low transmission oil levels affecting the pressure sensor. The solution involved checking and topping up the transmission oil and replacing the pressure sensor, resolving the problem.

Interesting. How did you check the oil level? Is there a dipstick somewhere? And do you remember which error codes you got?

No dipstick unfortunately, at least not on mine. You need to get under the car and there's a specific fill plug you need to remove. It's kind of a pain. Honestly, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to have them check it properly. My error codes were related to the oil pressure sensor giving implausible readings. Get it checked before it gets worse!

Thanks for the input. Took it to a workshop, turns out the oil level was indeed low. They topped it up and replaced the pressure sensor. Cost me 365€, but all good now.

Whoa, sounds rough! I had something similar happen with my Skoda (an Octavia). The transmission fault light kept popping up. Did you check the transmission oil level? Apparently, a low oil level can throw off the pressure sensor and cause all sorts of weirdness. What diagnostic codes are you seeing?
