Skoda Karoq Undervoltage Issue

I'm reporting an undervoltage issue in my Skoda Karoq, build year 2020 with a gasoline engine. The vehicle has accumulated some kilometers. The primary symptom is a poor start, accompanied by the failure of various systems. Additional symptoms include weak or flickering lights and a weak battery when starting the engine. I suspect the battery is heavily discharged or defective. I have checked the charging system and voltage regulator, but I'm unsure how to proceed.

I experienced a similar issue with my Karoq. Have you checked the battery terminal connections for corrosion or looseness? A poor connection can cause a significant voltage drop. Also, what is the battery health? A simple multimeter test can provide insights into the battery's current state.

Thanks for your response. I did inspect the battery terminal connections visually, but I did not perform a voltage drop test. Could you elaborate on the symptoms you observed? Were they similar to the weak or flickering lights and system failures I described?

Yes, my symptoms mirrored yours exactly: flickering headlights, error messages on the infotainment screen, and difficulty starting. Given that you have checked the charging system, it's highly probable the battery is the problem. If basic checks don't reveal it, professional diagnosis is the most reliable path.

Acknowledged. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I replaced the battery; testing showed it had degraded significantly. The total cost, including a new Varta battery and registration, was 290€. All systems are now functioning correctly.
